Save your wallet…eat at Chipotle!!
We are Chipotle fanatics in the house (err, apartment). One week, we literally went 4 times because two of the days we received coupons to get “one meal free”.
We were absolutely thrilled when we saw the company’s support for Food, Inc. It was actually the first time we really learned about the organic and environmental initiatives Chipotle has taken.
“Food with Integrity”:
- Naturally raised
- Added hormone free
(Direct adjectives from the Chipotle website …check them out for more specifics on the actions they’re taking. They’re not perfect, but who is?)
And of course, their burritos are packed with FLAVOR!
I also noticed today that the receipt says: “Gourmet food without the attitude”. LOVE IT.
I’m a Communications major, so I’m a sucker for creative taglines. 🙂
Anyways, back to our meal. We used to always buy separate burritos and could either never finish them or would be overly stuffed when finished. Not a good feeling. We don’t like wasting money or food.
Finally it hit us to start sharing! We actually do this at most restaurants now since we love going out to eat.
Here’s what happened:
1. We turned 1,000+ calories into a 500 calorie serving each. We ordered the Vegetarian burrito. (They’ll even cut your burrito in half for you!)
2. We chopped the cost in half. (Only $6.44 with TAX!)
3. We swapped sodas for FREE water.
Not bad, right? If you have a significant other, or heck even a friend, who shares similar food interests, I highly recommend sharing meals.
Better for your health. Great for your wallet.
